The West 44th Avenue Trail is a ten-foot-wide concrete sidepath that runs along the side of its namesake roadway, helping to connect two important trails in the Denver region’s trail network, the Clear Creek Trail and the Fairmount Trail.

Clocking in at about three-quarters of a mile, the trail provides a convenient path on a stretch of road that previously lacked any sort of accommodation for cyclists and pedestrians.

The eastern end of the trail leads into Tony Grampsas Memorial Park, which hosts a variety of sports and recreation facilities and marks the southern end of the Fairmount Trail.

Railroad and history enthusiasts will want to make sure to check out the Colorado Railroad Museum, conveniently located just off the trail on 44th Avenue, which boasts a large collection of historic trains.
