We provide everything that you need except (1) Colorado Fishing Licenses, (2) Flies that your guide picks out. For half day trips plan on approximately $12-$15 per person. For full day trips, plan on approximately $15-$20 per person. (3) Gratuity (4) This year must provide your own transportation this year, as a COVID-19 safety protocol.
Mountain Angler is proud to have the best/most experienced guide staff in the region. Gratuity is never expected, but always appreciated. If you feel your guide has done a good job, a common gratuity starts at 20% of the guide fee.
The Mountain Angler is permitted to guide on virtually all public waters in our area, including the Arkansas, Blue, Colorado, Eagle and South Platte Rivers, a dozen of smaller tributary streams and 4 major reservoirs After talking to your guide on the day of the trip, the guide will put together a plan to best suit your fly-fishing needs! Also, check out our wide variety of exclusive Private Water.
We want everyone to enjoy fly fishing! That being said, learning to fly fish requires a certain level of strength, agility and patience. For our guided fly fishing trips, we have a RECOMMENDED minimum age of 11-12 YEARS OLD. We have found this to be the age where most youth anglers can (1) Safely wade the rivers, (2) Learn the basics (3) Enjoy their experience. This is not a strict policy as the age that each child is ready to fly fish can vary greatly. If your child is ready before then, we are happy to take them out!
