Housing one of the two Colorado “Goodwill” moon rocks collected during the Apollo 17 lunar mission, the Colorado School of Mines Museum of Earth Science 15,000 square feet showcases fossils, mineral, rocks, and other objects found in Colorado. You can even check out the Miss Colorado Crown with 21 diamonds and over 600 gemstones.

Two paid guided tours are available onsite for groups of 30 people or less which includes walking the Bob Weimer Geology Trail and need to be booked in advance.

Kids can even earn a free rock or mineral by completing a family-friendly scavenger hunt!
