Sitting at 3,000 feet above the Resort is The Broadmoor’s highest Wilderness Experience, Cloud Camp. With unobstructed 360 degree views that showcase the incomparable splendor of Pikes Peak, this authentic Colorado escape is located on the historic site of Broadmoor founder Spencer Penrose’s Cheyenne Lodge. Broadmoor founder Spencer Penrose built the road that leads to the top of Cheyenne Mountain as well as the camp’s original lodge. Influenced by the historic timber and stone lodges of the American West, Cloud Camp’s 8,500-square-foot main lodge is built on the same site as the original building, and features hand-hewn beams and indigenous stone fireplaces. Its walls are adorned in authentic memorabilia and epic Western-themed paintings. Its great room and bar area serve as the backdrop for relaxed yet inspired gatherings, and the long dining room table seats up to 32 guests. The lodge also boasts an expansive wrap-around deck where guests can gaze over the natural splendor of the forest and maybe even spot a rainbow lingering over the horizon.
