One of the only public bobsled runs in America is at Vail Mountain. Vail’s on-mountain bobsled run, a 2,900-ft course, begins below Mid-Vail (the large restaurant about halfway up the mountain). Neither the course nor the sleds are quite up to an Olympic standard, but speeds of up to 50 mph are still possible. The sleds hold up to four people and cost $14 per person.
